Who is it for
This 16-hour programme is specially designed to cover the statistical techniques and applications that are particularly useful for business,industry, financial services, social sciences and government. The business statistics programme can serve as both a refresher course and as a practical programme for those without prior knowledge of statistics but who need to learn about what is useful in a practical manner from facilitators who can explain the subject in an interesting and meaningful way that is not too heavily theoretical but neither superficial At the same time offers a good grounding in the important fundamentals of data analysis.
Prerequisites
- Experience with running and using software in a Windows or Mac environment.
Course Overview
Module 1
Basic and introductory involving:
- the idea of probability frequency distributions and graphic representations of data measures of central tendency dispersion the shape of distributions confidence intervals tests of differences between means (single sample, independent and related groups t-test) one-way ANOVA and factorial two-way ANOVA
- z-score transformations
Module 2
Correlational techniques covering the use of:
- Chi-Square, Pearson r, Linear Regression, Multiple Regressaion and Factor Analysis
Non-Parametric Tests
Module 3
Advanced level involving:

Duration, Cost
- Courses run from January to July and from September to December 2008. Public courses are not generally held in August and all scheduled dates are subject to demand
- The next course dates (module 1) are:
(6 x 3 hour sessions)to be advised.
Each module covers approximately 18 hours of training

- € 400 + VAT - Standard rate per module
