Who is it for?

Professionals who want to become accredited by the CIPD to demonstrate that they are a competent and Chartered HR professionals. This portfolio based programme is ideal for busy professionals who do not have the time to study and take exams.

You must have worked at a management level for 5 years, of which 3 are in HR or Training.

What is it about?

The CIPD Professional Assessment of Competence (PAC) - leading to Chartered Membership of the CIPD - is the platform to gain the recognition you deserve as an HR professional.

There are various routes to gaining CIPD membership. PAC allows HR practitioners with a minimum of 5 years management level experience, 3 of which must be in HR, to undergo work-based assessment of competence against the CIPD professional standards.  This involves providing work-based evidence and narrative that demonstrate the practical application of your knowledge and skills, without sitting examinations.

Course Overview

The programme is:
  • Delivered one-to-one with a qualified advisor
  • Up to 10 face-to-face meetings
  • Unlimited support via telephone and email
  • Flexible meeting dates and times to fit in with your busy schedule
  • Advisors based in most areas of the UK
  • Remote programmes available for overseas candidates - support via webcam (SKYPE) available
  • Specialist tutor to support on the Management Research Report (part of the Applied Field)
You will meet with a qualified personal advisor who will assist you in providing work-based evidence to demonstrate your competence.  This means you can begin at any time and meetings are arranged at your convenience, ensuring minimum disruption to work.  You will also have the opportunity to network with other senior HR professionals.

There are 4 fields to complete:
  • People Management & Development
  • Four Specialist Electives from a choice of 19
  • Leadership & Management (by advanced standing)
  • Applied Personnel & Development
In recognition of the experience you possess, you will usually be awarded advanced standing for the Leadership and Management field.  This allows you to utilise the managerial evidence you have produced for the other fields you take.

Programmes are tailored to meet your individual needs, ensuring extensive guidance and support is provided from start to finish.

In addition to the individual meetings, you will have unlimited access to your personal adviser by way of telephone, email or fax and for the management research report, access to workshops.  Once you have completed the programme we will arrange an assessment meeting during which the work in your portfolio and underpinning knowledge will be discussed and assessed.

There are no exams in this programme.
